To Gift or Not To Gift

Not all Realtors are created equal, just like in any profession. Lately, it seems that everyone knows 5-10 Real Estate Agents. How can you capture attention and earn new clients? In the details of your business that will get talked about. Ultimately earning you referrals within your sphere. It will grow like the flavor of a fine wine if you nurture correctly. How?

Let's dive into one of my favorite ways to capture attention. Closing day. The day some Realtors say "thanks", hand over keys, then forget to stay in touch and move on to another client. Closing gifts from Realtors are a great way to show appreciation and gratitude towards clients who have just gone through the process of buying or selling a home. These gifts not only make clients feel valued, but they also serve as a reminder of the positive experience they had working with their Realtor. Here are some reasons why closing gifts are important:

  1. Builds client relationships: Closing gifts are a thoughtful gesture that can help build lasting relationships between Realtors and their clients. They show that the Realtor cares about their clients beyond just the transaction and that they value their business. Selecting gifts tailored to the client's hobbies, favorite things, etc. is a plus. It shows you paid attention to THEM.

  2. Creates positive word-of-mouth: When clients receive a closing gift, they are more likely to share their positive experience with others. This can lead to referrals, testimonials and new business for the Realtor.

  3. Differentiates the Realtor from competitors: Closing gifts can set a Realtor apart from their competitors who may not offer this extra level of service. It can also help clients remember the Realtor's name and refer them to others.

  4. Shows appreciation: Buying or selling a home can be a stressful and emotional process. A closing gift can help ease the stress and make clients feel appreciated for their business.

  5. Can be customized: Closing gifts can be customized to fit the client's interests or needs. This personal touch can make the gift even more meaningful and memorable.

Some examples of closing gifts include personalized home decor, gift baskets with local products, gift cards to favorite restaurants, shopping sprees with a Maximum limit at a local home furnishings store (great for first time buyers), and lastly, if they have children, grab them a copy of "Welcome Home", which can be purchased at: monikastrand.com, or on Etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/JustForYouBooks. The book offers a final page that you can provide them with a picture of closing day. Don't forget to leave your business card tucked into the back flap, as the book will stay in the child's room for years to come. They wil remember YOU when it comes time to sell their home.

Keep in mind the cost of the gift can vary depending on the Realtor's budget and the client's preferences. Think, "It's the thought that counts" and this is SMART marketing too.

In conclusion, closing gifts from Realtors are an important way to show appreciation, build relationships, and differentiate from competitors. They are a small but impactful way to leave a lasting impression on clients and promote positive word-of-mouth.
